Walking and biking to school should be a safe and fun activity for all children. We need your help to meet this goal. Please take 10 minutes today to participate in an online survey about walking and biking to school. The data is critical to our efforts to secure funding for improvements to sidewalks, crosswalks, programs such as Walking School Buses, and more.
The survey will only be open from Thursday, October 16th, to Thursday, October 30th. This information will help identify unsafe areas around the school and give you an opportunity to cite your concerns about students biking and walking to school.

Change Wars! Ready, Set, Go! (Oct. 20 - 24)
Officially known as the All for Books program, the Change Wars are a way for students and their families to raise money to purchase books for the Leal library. Classes compete to collect loose change over one week. For every $100 collected, Scholastic will give us an additional $50 to buy books for classrooms. In addition, Scholastic will match the monetary donations we generate by donating books to two organizations: Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc., and the Kids in Need Foundation.
All donations are welcome, but students are encouraged to bring in the following on each day:
Monday (10/20) - Pennies
Tuesday (10/21) - Nickels
Wednesday (10/22) - Dimes
Thursday (10/23) - Quarters
Friday (10/24) - Dollars
The winning class will earn a special treat from Principal Landsman. On behalf of the students and teachers of our school, Thank You!

This year the Leal PTA is compiling a directory of student/parent contact information, so that families have an easier way to connect for after-school events, play dates, etc. Submitting information for the Directory is voluntary. This information will be distributed ONLY to Leal students/parents. Download a form here, or look for the forms on the PTA table at the school. Turn in completed forms to the PTA mailbox in the school office.
