Calling all volunteers!

PTA Executive Board Positions

A number of our PTA Board members will be completing their two-year volunteer terms at the end of the school year. We are looking for YOU -- a member of the Leal community who is willing to help support Leal students and staff. Interested in utilizing your skills? Contact us today!

Teacher Appreciation

The Leal teachers and staff do so much for our children every day. A couple way we are able to say "Thanks!" is to provide dinners during Parent-Teacher Conference nights and a week of treats at the end of the year.


Teacher Appreciation Dinners will be held March 5 and 12. Stay tuned for sign-up information.


Teacher Appreciation Week is May 4-8. We need YOU to help make it great! Do you enjoy party planning, decorating, cooking and/or baking? Do you have contacts in the community for treats, services, or pampering products? Contact us to help out. A small team would make this job fun and easy!

Fun Fair & Silent Auction

The annual Leal Fun Fair & Silent Auction will take place Friday, May 15. This fun, family event requires the hard work and dedication of over 100 volunteers. We're looking for YOU to help make this the best event yet! Volunteers are needed for organization and preparation leading up to the event, and staffing the day of. Contact us to find out how you can get involved.

Kindergarten Connection / Conexion al Kinder

Do you have a child who will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2015? If so, make plans to attend USD116's Kindergarten Connection on Tuesday, April 14, 11am - 5:30pm, at Lincoln Square Mall. For more information, visit the district site or contact Darcy Silver.

  • Dual Language Program applications will be accepted at this event. (The DL Parent Forum will take place at Leal School on February 19, 6pm. Come that day to learn more and submit an application for your incoming Kindergartener or 1st-grader.
  • Please note that any non-K or returning student will still need to be registered at the August registration.

Leal Directory

The Leal PTA compiled a directory of student/parent contact information so that families have an easier way to connect for after-school events, play dates, etc. Submitting information for the Directory is voluntary. Information will be distributed ONLY to Leal students/parents.

Winter Clothing Drive
The PTA continually accepts donations of gently-used or new warm clothing to distribute to students. All clothing is accepted, but coats, hats, mittens/gloves, boots, and socks are especially appreciated at this time of year. Donations can be dropped off in the box inside the main doors of the school. These donations are available to any Leal student or family; the closet is located in the main hallway outside of the school office. Contact us for more information.

Book Donations

Need One/Take One Book Bins are running low. If you have gently used children’s books you no longer want, please bring them in so that someone else can make use of them. The bins are located just outside the school office. Have one? Donate it! Need one? Take it!

DonorsChoose Projects

The Leal PTA is once again humbled by the generosity of the supporters of the DonorsChoose projects submitted by Leal teachers and staff! Many thanks for fully funding Mrs. Beck's and Ms. Marian's projects this year.
